Immort title sequence so far …

I decided to put together all the scenes I have created for the title sequence to see how it looks so far and to get the feeling of the title sequence.

Overall, I am really pleased with how it is coming along. I still need to fix some parts and build some scene’s for it to be done but I am really happy and proud with what I have built so far!

Test futuristic ornaments

After learning and experimenting with Red Giants plug-in Trapcode Form, I thought of how could I possibly put the plug in and what I’ve learned from experimenting with it to good use certainly after watching what I’d created. In the second cut of the film, I noticed that the film didn’t look too futuristic (mainly no visual effects) but I thought maybe a good or subtle touch of the plug-in would be to create really subtle and  nice flowing futuristic ornaments almost like a futuristic lava lamp but much more elegant.

But before I just go adding it into the film and see if it works or not I decided to test it out and see how if it works with the scene and atheistically looks nice.

This is the original footage that I would motion track and see if they look atheistically nice.

I then created two new different ornament objects just to give variety and difference.

I then wanted to include the original test experiment that I created which lead me to this initial idea of create these as ornaments.

Below is the video of my results.

Overall I’m not too thrilled with the results as I do feel like looks artificial and can’t see the full details of the ornaments as they move around which I do feel it makes it lose it’s elegance and futuristic nature.

However, I am not going to give up and accept that it doesn’t work. I am going to be doing more tests to capture its elegance and its motion in full. What I do think that made this test a failure is that the lighting is very orange as well, that it was filmed on top of a wooden desk and that it was shot on an iphone 6.

In my next test shoot I am going to use proper lighting and use a clear desk to see if that improves, as well I will try out different background colours i.e. white and black, with the different backdrop as well I’m hoping that this will improve the visibly of the motion graphics and that you can see it more clearer.

After Effects test plug in Form

So quite recently I obtained the After Effects Plug made by Trapcode called ‘Form’ which from what I saw from the product video looked really interesting and wanted to learn more about it.

I started to follow and watch some tutorials and learning the interface and what each menu does and where to find a certain menus or specialist effects could do i.e. audio effect etc.

(insert pic)

After watching a few tutorials and learning about Form, I decided to experiment and see what I could create and just basically see what I could remember from the tutorials. After making a few tests here are the results.

Overall I’m really happy and impressed how each one has turned out as I didn’t really set out with a ideal thing to create, I just created what I thought was artistically pleasing and testing things out to see what would the results be.

After creating these, I then started to think how could I integrate Form into Immort and make some elegant motion graphical objects which occurred that these motion graphical objects could be used as either futuristic ornaments or futuristic advertising to really sell how radically different the future is.

I’ve decided that I will research into futuristic ornaments and advertising to see what I can find and do some tests.

Title Sequence – Lungs

Within the title sequence I wanted to create a set of lungs that show that they are breathing and we enter inside the lungs and see how nanobots are changing inside the lungs. However, to do this I needed to do research to remind myself and make sure what I would be creating could be realistic and could be almost identical to a set of lungs.

I then also found an animation that talks about how do lungs work and was really informative for me as an animator as I could understanding how to animate the lungs I would be creating.

After analysing the diagrams and the animation, I decided to look into what a real pair of lungs looks like outside the body.

After researching into lungs in diagrams and real life, I decided it was time that I should attempt to build my own animation of lungs being animated.

This was my attempt. Overall I was really pleased with how it came out and that it actually did look like a pair of lungs and that the bronchioles actually moves and looks like they are breathing.

I think how I am going to improve on the lungs is to try and make a better and smoother animation of the bronchioles inhaling and exhaling. Possibly add a heart beating next to the lungs to make it that bit more believable and to add a rig cage around the lungs so that I’ve taken into account the ribs and could possibly go in between the spaces of the rib cage to give it that more 3D vibe and could look really good.

Designing Aidyia’s logo

When given the task to create the logo for the company which keeps everyone alive in the film, I thought I would do some research into the designs of different companies and try to get inspirations from them.

After looking at these inspirational logo’s, I decided it was time to design my own logo for Aidyia’s.

Overall I am really happy with how I designed the logo and how it looks as it looks evil and unknowing.

After designing the logo, I decided to animate them and see what it would look like if they where forming to make the logo.

After animating the logo, I then decided to post them to the facebook group page LSFM digibod page to see what people thought of it and what animation did people liked the most (the last logo in the video was a example of a possible loading screen).
